Terms and Conditions
The agreement between you and us: what we do, what we need from you, and how quotes, fees and rights work.
Last updated: 20 September 2026
These Terms govern your use of theauthorsportal.com and any services provided by Dispatch Globally LLC, doing business as The Authors Portal. Using this site or engaging us means you accept them.
Our services
We provide the following services to authors:
- Book Editing & Proofreading
- Book Formatting & Typesetting
- Book Cover Design
- Book Publishing & Distribution
- Book Marketing
- Printing & Fulfillment
- Ghostwriting & Book Writing
- Author Website Design
Deliverables, timelines and fees are set out in the individual proposal or service agreement we send you. Every book is quoted on its own, and nothing on this website is a price list.
Quotes
A quote is based on the manuscript and the brief you give us. If the scope changes, for example a longer manuscript, extra rounds or additional formats, we re-quote in writing before any further work begins.
Your responsibilities as an author
So that we can do our part, you agree to:
- Give us accurate information.
- Supply the manuscript and materials in the form we agree.
- Confirm that you hold the rights to everything you send us, that it infringes nobody else’s copyright, and that it contains nothing unlawful.
- Review and approve deliverables within the time we agree.
- Pay on the agreed schedule.
If material or approvals reach us late, the timeline moves out to match. An extension caused that way is not a failure to deliver on our part.
Fees and payment
Fees are set out in your proposal and fall due at the points agreed in writing. Everything is quoted and invoiced in USD. We may pause work on a balance more than 14 days past due.
Refunds
Because the work is custom, fees for a stage are non-refundable once work on that stage has begun.
If a project is cancelled before work begins, anything paid for it is refunded in full. A dispute about the quality of a deliverable is handled through the revision process set out in your service agreement.
Intellectual property
- You keep the copyright in your manuscript and in the finished book.
- Covers, layouts and other deliverables made for you become yours on full payment.
- We may show anonymised, non-identifiable examples of our work, unless you ask us in writing not to.
- The Authors Portal brand, the content of this website and our own working methods stay the property of Dispatch Globally LLC.
Confidentiality
Unpublished manuscripts and the details of your project are confidential. We do not disclose them without your consent, except where the law requires it, or where delivering the service requires it: printers, retailers and distribution platforms.
Third party platforms
The retailers, printers and distributors a book is published through set their own rules. We are not responsible for their outages, pricing changes, review times, policy changes, or their decisions about whether to list a title.
Accounts and subscription costs with those platforms are yours, unless your service agreement says otherwise.

Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. By opting in you confirm that you are at least 18.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law permits, we are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages, and we are not liable for lost sales, lost royalties or lost business opportunities.
Our total liability is capped at the fees you paid us in the three months before the claim.
Termination
Either party may end an agreement on 14 days’ written notice. Outstanding invoices become due, we hand over the work completed to that point, and shared access credentials are revoked.
Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, where Dispatch Globally LLC is registered. Disputes are resolved by binding arbitration, or in the appropriate courts of the State of Florida.
Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms. Material changes are posted on this page with a new date, and continuing to use the services means you accept the update.
